Is HDTV quality too good for football attendance?

Three of four of this week's NFL playoff games are not sold out yet.

For me, ticket prices are way too high and sitting on the couch in a comfortable room with snacks while watching HDTV is better anyway. Especially when it's very cold outside as it is now in many locations.

I'm sure the NFL will adapt by charging more somewhere.

If you want to go to a local bar in the 285 area to watch the NFL games, which are your favorites? I think Brooks Place has the most TVs, but there are other choices too.

I went to one Bronco game this year, what a freaking hassle! Traffic, security, high prices, I had great club seats, section 300 about midfield, but at $320, way too expensive(I didn't pay for the ticket). I can see why people are staying away...but I think I would be willing if I lived close enough to see a -18F playoff football game at historic Lambeau Field one time. It would be epic!

There is no replacement for actually being at a game in person. That said, there's no replacing actually being able to see the ball for the whole game, or a bathroom 20 feet away with no line, or a fridge full of snacks and beer. Cold unspilled beer. And a recliner.

I have to attend at least one game a year, it's expensive and getting there and back home is a hassle but i just have to go to at least one game a year.

That being said, I throw one hell of a party for less than it costs to go to one game for two people. Lots of good food, plenty of cold beverages already paid for, house full of family and friends. The only downside of having the weekly football party at home is the clean up, I can handle that.

Has the NFL reached that magic balancing point between dedicated fans shelling out what ever it costs to attend a game and fans who can't afford tickets anymore, aren't willing to put up with the hassles, and don't want to deal with the stadium experience? If Broncos playoff ticket sales offer any evidence I would have to say that there are still plenty of folks out there who will pay what ever the market demands to attend NFL playoff games.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
