Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD) presents its 2nd annual Premier-Special Olympics Basketball Showcase on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, as former NBA star Keith Van Horn's Colorado Premier Basketball Team holds a clinic and plays a game with EPRD's Special Olympics Wildcat Basketball team.
The event, starting at 1:30 PM at Wulf Recreation Center (5300 S Olive Rd, Evergreen), will give special needs kids an opportunity to learn new skills and enjoy a unified basketball game with more advanced athletes.
In a short ceremony just before the game, EPRD will honor Local Heroes who have supported the social needs community.
Schedule:
1:30 PM -- Hero presentation
1:40-3 PM -- Clinic and game
3-3:30 PM -- Party at Rec Center and Awards for girls.

EPRD's Special Needs Program contributes to the growth and development of persons with developmental disabilities and their families. It increases their opportunities to participate in community, recreation, leisure and cultural programs, as well as activities to build daily living skills. Programs and services help prepare persons who are disabled to become as socially, emotionally, and intellectually independent as possible.
