Registration is Open for 2017
Evergreen Pond Hockey Championship
EVERGREEN, CO (Oct. 20, 2016) -
Pond Hockey logo Registration is open for the 7th annual Evergreen Pond Hockey Tournament, to be held the weekend of Jan. 7 and 8, 2017, on the world's largest Zamboni-groomed outdoor ice rink on Evergreen Lake, in the foothills 30 minutes west of Denver.
Pond hockey tournaments have evolved in many towns across the country, but few beyond Evergreen have stayed true to the original form of clearing a rink, setting up goals, and playing the game.
"With snow banks as sidewalls, no goalie, and the thrill of playing on a frozen lake while factoring in nature's obstacles as the sport intended, you won't find a better tournament than this one," declares Brad Bednar, Evergreen Pond Hockey Championship organizer and supervisor of Evergreen Lake House.
Space is limited and competitors converge on Evergreen from around the country, so teams are encouraged to guarantee their spots by registering for tournament, organized by Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD), on 12 hockey rinks over the 8.5-acre rink at Evergreen Lake.
