How tough are you? Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD) invites runners to compete in the 2018 Evergreen Trail Racing Series, a five-race series of running events on mountainous terrain around scenic Evergreen and our mountain community. Distances range from a 5k to an epic half-marathon to the top of Bergen Peak (elevation 9,708 feet), a climb of well over 2,000 vertical feet.

Race registration is $35 in advance and $40 race day - or register for ALL 5 races for $140, which means you get one race for FREE! Registration includes a pair of custom running socks. Races start at 8 AM (pre-registration opens at 7 AM.)

Pick up your race bib on race day. Please bring a reusable water bottle to the races. There will be no water/aid stations on the course; this Series will be cup-free.

Elk Meadow Trail Race 5k & 10k - June 2
This 5K/10K race leads runners throughout the rolling hills of Elk Meadow Open Space Park. Runners will start on Pioneer trail and head clockwise around the meadow. The first stretch is a steady downhill along highway 74. From there, runners will weave their way up to where they will run through the trees along the foot of the mountain. The course then shoots runners back out into the meadow to reconnect with Pioneer Trail to the finish line. Participants should meet at the Buchanan Park Recreation Center near the Pioneer Trail head.

Evergreen Mountain 15k - July 7
The Evergreen Mountain Trail Race features over nine miles of peaks and valleys. Participants pass the four rock formations called the Three Sisters and Little Brother as they weave their way throughout the course. The ascent up Evergreen Mountain features an elevation gain of over 1,000 feet, with runners ultimately reaching an elevation of 8,400 feet. After completing the summit loop, runners sprint down Evergreen Mountain to the finish. Runners should meet at the start/finish line at the Alderfer Three Sisters west parking lot.

New! Staunton State Park 20K - August 4
Join us at Staunton State Park for a beautiful 20k trail race. Runners will start at 8,215 feet of elevation and reach an elevation of 9,579 feet at the Eagle Cliff Overlook. Please bring a water bottle. This is a cup free race.

Bergen Peak Half Marathon - August 25
This race is epic! Bergen Peak runners will endure the rolling hills of Elk Meadow and the strenuous switchbacks of Bergen Peak and Too Long Trail. While ascending approximately 1,500 feet, runners will peak at a total elevation of 9,000 feet as they cover this 13.1 mile course. Participants should meet at the Buchanan Park Recreation Center near the Pioneer Trail head.

Fall EverGold 10-Miler - October 6
The Fall EverGold Trail Race is a ten-mile out and back race that takes place at Lair O' the Bear Open Space Park in Idledale. Runners will meet at the main parking lot in Idledale, just off of Highway 73. The course has runners taking the ascent up the trail first, then turning around to enjoy the decent over the second half of the race. Runners will meet at the main parking lot in Idledale, just off of Highway 73.

Glow RunGlow Run 5k - October 13
Join us for a one-of-a-kind glow-in-the-dark park experience! This event is less about how fast you run a 5K but more about enjoying an evening with your family and friends. After the run, enjoy caramel apples and non-alcoholic hot beverages. So put your glow gear on and join us! (Glow-in-the-dark necklaces will be provided). Location: Alderfer Park.

The Bergen Peak Half Marathon is tomorrow SAT, Aug 25. It's the 4th event in the 2018 Evergreen Trail Racing Series. Come run or watch!
