No, that is not an Onion headline, it's for reelz...LOL She has zero coaching experience, but hey, the Browns could hardly do worse than they have been.

Browns general manager John Dorsey said last week that he was open to hiring a woman as Cleveland's next head coach, and one prominent name is on the team's wish list to interview.

The Browns would like to interview former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for their head-coaching job, a league source tells ESPN.

Cleveland's interest in interviewing Rice comes at a time when women recently have moved into decision-making roles in men's professional sports. The San Antonio Spurs hired Becky Hammon as an assistant coach, the Buffalo Bills hired Kathryn Smith as a quality control assistant, the Oakland Raiders hired Kelsey Martinez to their strength staff, and the San Francisco 49ers hired Katie Sowers as an offensive assistant.

A potential interview hardly means the Browns will hire Rice, but they are interested in talking to her about the job and seeing what she could bring to the position and the organization.

Dorsey: Condoleezza Rice not option for Browns HC job

The Cleveland Browns plan to search under every stone for a new head coach. Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, however, won't be considered.

In response to a report by ESPN that the Browns want to interview the 64-year-old Rice, general manager John Dorsey rejected the notion.

"Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is a great leader, possesses the highest possible character and also happens to be a Browns fan," Dorsey said in a statement. "I have the utmost respect and admiration for all she's accomplished and was honored to meet her for the first time earlier this season. Our coaching search will be thorough and deliberate, but we are still in the process of composing the list of candidates and Secretary Rice has not been discussed."

I do like her becoming the new Cleveland Browns president. There is no one filling the job now and I think she can bring the stability and prestige the franchise needs to turn itself around. (And possibly prioritize the hiring of more female coaches and trainers.)
