Clear Creek track had state champions in the 4 x 100-meter relay. It can often take years for someone to make history. For four Clear Creek track athletes, it only took 44.10 seconds.
The boys relay team — seniors Lucas Gerding, Brandon Pennell, Michael Burch and junior Griffin — won their final relay of the 2A state track meet at Jeffco Stadium on Saturday by only 0.38 seconds as St. Mary’s, Vail Christian and Sedgwick County quickly caught up to Griffin in the last 100 meters.
