IDAHO SPRINGS — First-game jitters.
A hail storm, rockfall and mudslide that wreaked havoc on Interstate 70 traffic heading to Golddigger Stadium, forcing the final home opener at the famed facility to start 30 minutes late.
A young team with just two seniors — Ben Griffin and Tanner Younger, the former starting his first game at quarterback in place of the graduated Lucas Gerding.
Any number of reasons could be thrown out as to why Clear Creek lost its season opener 57-0 to Hotchkiss on Friday night. But first-year head coach Landon Wright wasn’t having any of it.
