Van Praag named EHS head football coach was created by CanyonCourier
When Evergreen High School football’s offensive coordinator Matt Van Praag put his name in the pool of head coaching candidates, his community stepped up to rally around him.
Parents and former players flooded the athletic department with calls of support. In the end, it was enough to convince Evergreen High School officials to award him the job.
During the offseason, former head coach Dave Leek stepped down after learning his job had relocated him to Oklahoma.
Van Praag has been dreaming of leading the team since he first joined the program in 2011.
