The MLB players association and the owners cannot agree on a manner of sharing the revenues and say there may be no baseball this year. The NBA players are arguing over the recognition of "racism" before they take to the floor. The NFL is still up in the air as to how to start the season.
My question, does anyone really care? Excluding those with a vested interest.
Personally I will miss baseball this Summer. Sad that they played during World Wars and the Spanish Influenza but are now fighting over money. They are all one percenters. The players and owners should come together and play for free this year. Plus take down the regional blackouts.
Let fans watch their home teams or any other team,
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
We generally go to 5-8 games per season. Always had a 80%+ crowd. Missing that. it seems to me that the MLB is looking only at the short term. Protect their profits at a cost to the future. Baseball won't die but it is going to be severely injured. It is no longer the "National Past-Time" Lots of reason as to why this happened but the money arguments today are surely going to hurt the sport. Kids will still play. But they will discover lacrosse and summer soccer, where then will baseball be?
"Lift Ev'ry Voice And Sing," traditionally known as the Black national anthem, is expected to be performed live or played before every Week 1 NFL game....
The song would be performed before "The Star-Spangled Banner," the source said. The NFL's season opener is scheduled for Sept. 10, with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Houston Texans
This begs the question, will those who stand for the "Black national anthem", then kneel when "The Star Spangled Banner", is played?
