Good to see the Boys of Summer back. Makes 2020 just a little bit more normal. Rockies start Friday night down in Texas. Luckily in a domed stadium.

13 Marlin players test positive for Covid. And some staff have it too. Already after only the first week! So tonight's Marlin's Opening Day is cancelled. The Marlin players were playing in Philadelphia last night so the team is being held there. Meanwhile the scheduled Yankees/Phillies game tonight was also cancelled as the locker rooms get disinfected and the clubhouse staff are also tested. It could be that baseball comes back only to possibly get shut down this week for the rest of 2020. What really makes this strange is that major league soccer in America hasn't had any cases. Nor the English Premier Soccer league.
What has MLB done wrong? Or were the Miami players not being careful?

More baseball players testing positive, and more games postponed. The Marlins haven't played in a long time.
I hope they are able to get a season and playoffs in but it isn't looking good.

TAKING A KNEE

Prior to the Edmunton Oilers v Minnesota wild hockey game, one player knelt during the U.S. anthem, but stood for the Canadian. The player is Canadian. He is not on either team, he plays for the Minnesota Wild.
The following is from the comments section of an article about this action. It was written by G.E. Guido. His words ring true.
From spectator.org 8/4/20.

"This was apparently a big set-up. For all of you who arent hockey fans here's how the pre-game anthenm ceremony goes... The flags are usually displayed on the scoreboard over center ice The starting 6 players on each team line up on their respective blue lines facing each other and the scoreboeard. The remaining players who are playing that night stand at their respective benches facing the direction of the scoreboard/flag. Players who are not playing and not dressed for the game sit in the press box.

But look here, Dumba is wearing street clothes but is on the ice for the anthem. Also, there is a red carpet - which he is kneeling on. The red carpet is usually done when a non-skating personality is going to drop a ceremonial puck or sing the anthem or some retired player or team representative is going to give or receive an award. And why is Dumba holding a microphone in the photo?

This was a total set-up by the teams and the league.

The Colorado Rockies are having their best start ever! 8-2 after ten games. Go Rox! Nice to see the Rockies still in the playoff hunt this late in the season.
