You probably know that the Bronco (aka Donkeys ) benched Russell Wilson. Not because of what he has done this season, rather they plan to cut him loose and don't want to incur the cost of his contract in case he is injured. So I am posting this while watching the Donkeys lose to the Raiders with a journeyman QB who has never won a starting QB position during his NFL career.
It seems that management is taking a page out of the Rockies playbook.

Here is the statement from the Broncos GM regarding why they gave up on the season.
“We made a good-faith attempt to adjust his contract,’’ Paton said during a season-ending news conference at the Centura Health Training Center. “We handled ourselves professionally.”
