The Chargers are ranked first in offense (yards), first in defense, and yet they are 2-4.
This, clearly, is insane.
Since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, there have been only eight teams that ranked first in offense and defense at the same time during any point of the season, for a total of 18 weeks of action.
The combined record of those eight teams at the time they were ranked first in offense and defense: 62-7. I'm not sure what this all means exactly, other than San Diego's special teams coach is lucky to still have a job.
The last line made me laugh so I had to post this!
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
