Very cool, he beat the rap with science! LOL

"Dmitri Krioukov, a senior research physicist at the University of California San Diego, used a four-page research paper he wrote called "The Proof of Innocence," to successfully sway a judge during his appeal against a failure-to-stop citation, the Los Angeles Times reported.

According to the publication, Krioukov used a series of equations and graphs to show that it was physically impossible for him to have broken the law, and that while it may have appeared to the officer that he didn't stop, he actually did."

Update, apparently the Judge disagrees about the physics argument and states the reason was the cop was too far away.
