From Jeffco Open Space: "Join the growing movement of #citizenscience and join us in collecting data on butterfly, frog & bird species."

It's a great reason to get outside, a fabulous way to encourage learning in young minds, and a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community with your time!

Jeffco Open Space is a home for citizen science, a growing movement in which volunteers partner with scientists to answer real-world questions. Citizen science opportunities abound in February and March during volunteer recruitment season, which kicks off on Saturday, February 7 with the first of two volunteer recruitment fairs.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A second recruitment fair will be held on Thursday, February 12 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Both events take place at the Jeffco Open Space Administration Building at 700 Jefferson County Parkway, Suite 100 in Golden.

For more information, see jeffco.us/open-space/volunteer or call Volunteer Services Administrator Jana Johns, 303-271-5925.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
