The world is bereft an intellectual giant with a wonderful sense of humor, ability to communicate the most complex of subject matter, and grace and will to live and thrive despite suffering one of the worst diseases the world knows. We are lesser for his loss.

LONDON - Stephen Hawking, whose brilliant mind ranged across time and space though his body was paralyzed by disease, has died, a family spokesman said early Wednesday.

"He was a great scientist and an extraordinary man whose work and legacy will live on for many years," his children Lucy, Robert and Tim said in a statement.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Top 5 Scientist of all time? Top 10? I am currently reading a fictional novel about Darwin and it is amazing how much he was ahead of his peers. Hawking? Very interesting ideas he came up with.

Truly an inspiration to all, for thinking outside the box when it came to physics, defying his prognosis due to his ALS, and continuing to astound with his new discoveries and theories in the field of physics. He was an amazing man who will be missed by many. RIP, Stephen.
