Chamber Committee Meetings June 2015

Our Chamber is amazing because of all of the volunteers who donate hundreds of hours of time and much effort making our community events the best possible, and working in other committees such as the Marketing Committee, 285 Tourism Committee, and Public Affairs Committee, to promote our Chamber and its members so everyone can thrive and succeed.

We invite you all to join us on any committee which interests you - a wide variety of skills is always needed and appreciated and you don't have to be a Chamber member to participate - just care about your community and want to make a difference!

This month, we begin with our Marketing Committee Meeting, now held on the 1st Tuesday of every month at 6pm at the Conifer Chamber office.

Next up is our 285 Tourism Committee! This amazing committee won a $21,000 CO Tourism Grant last fall and are working to spend those dollars in the most productive ways. Normally they meet the 3rd Wednesday of the onth at 5:35pm at the Chamber office, but this week they will have two special meetings - a Booth Craft Party on Wednesday night (6/3) in which they will be creating the historical information displays, organizing the layout of their booth for upcoming festivals, brainstorming on what to have at the booth, and, without fail, having fun. If you have any markers, glue, scissors, etc you can bring, that would be a huge help.
They continue the party Thursday night for Social Media Happy Hour at Aspen Peak Cellars in Bailey. Whatever doesn't get completed Wednesday night will be worked on, plus they invite everyone to bring their laptops and get ready to write online reviews for area businesses whom you've visited recently and want to let everyone know what a great job they did serving you! It's part of our initiative to help our local businesses establish more of an online presence for visitors coming to the area to better find them. They'll also be sharing additional information on the 285 Tourism Mobile App - if you haven't downloaded it yet, please do for special savings you can only find on the app!

On June 8th & 22nd our Elevation Celebration Planning Committee will be meeting and continuing the planning for this fun summer event. They, along with Conifer Community Church with the help of our many generous sponsors, are bringing 3 bounce houses, a petting zoo, games for the kids, your favorite local bands to play all day Saturday and Sunday July 25-26, local vendors, delicious beer tastings and food, and more! Come find out what's in store!

June 12th is our Monthly Membership Breakfast Meeting. If you've ever wondered about joining the Chamber, please attend as our guest! Los 3 Garcias serves up a hot and yummy breakfast. we have great speakers - this month is Dave Petersen from Marketing Type Guys - member introductions, Sales tables, and the best, most lively morning group you could ever hope to be around!

June 18th is our After Hours Mixer, open to the public, at Community Banks of Colorado. Come learn more about your hometown bank, enjoy food and beverages, and meet new people!

June 23rd is a very special event. To show our members our appreciation, we have organized a trip to a Rockies Game! A $35 ticket gets you a ride down and back, drinks on the bus, tickets into the game, and an unforgettable night with some crazy fun members - business talk is optional only.

June 24th we will learn more in depth from Marketing Type Guys about how to create the best websites and why SEO is important for us to know. It's our Breakfast Club Continuing Education Series and it's only $10. Meet at Mountain Resource Center at 8-9:30am.

June 25th we have a ribbon cutting for Taspens Organics and Wellness Center at the Chamber office - come show your support and have your picture put in the paper!

June 30th our Ambassadors meet at 1pm at Community Banks of Colorado. Our Ambassadors have the enviable task of getting to know all of our members, making sure they are taking advantage of their Chamber benefits, helping make that connection between them and the Chamber staff and Board of Directors, and volunteering at our events to help them run as smoothly as possible. Bring your art supplies and fire up your creative juices - we've got some crafting & building to do tonight! Tomorrow night is our 2nd Social Media Happy Hour - come hang at Aspen Peak Cellars, write reviews of your favorite local businesses, and check out our Mobile App features!
