Platte Canyon Chamber Encouraging Businesses to Close For 2 Weeks

To whom it may concern,

As of this evening the Platte Canyon Chamber of Commerce has decided to encourage any and all non-essential businesses to close business for the next two weeks. Within the following time operation viability to reopen will be assessed on a day to day basis per the Colorado Department of Health.

We feel as a board that proactivity now can avoid a larger problem and strain on our limited resources and emergency services down the road and ask for your participation.

We will be developing a strategy to provide business owners education and information to maintaining operations in the next couple weeks.

We hope to educate our membership on e-commerce such as online store development, web conferencing with clients and business education, as well as building financial survival strategies and utilizing the low interest rates to keep our businesses cash flowing. We will also develop links and strategies to help the employer employee relationship so workers do not lose their homes and apartments and owners do not lose their great employees due to financial hardship. We will share networking opportunity’s with those communities and groups around us also on a human and personal level that includes proper safety precautions for essential businesses and nonprofits operation, guidelines for personal safety per the CDC and health department, and ways to be helpful in your community such as helping people out if they cannot make it to the store versus having to do a community ride share etc.

I will be in contact with several other chambers in the state this week on how to develop strategies for this crisis and will share with all any valuable information provided.
