My son has a literal week from today to get his run time for the mile and a half to under 13 minutes. His run time today was 14:20. If he does not make his run time on next thursday, his dreams of being a Marine are gone - and this IS the only goal he has.
So if you could please, prayers, light candles, send positive energy, send him speed above all. You may not agree with the military, but please, please, do this for him. He needs every bit of help he can get - he already just meets the height requirement, so his short legs need this extra burst of speed.
Thank you in advance - and I'll let you know how thursday goes.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
My best wishes for success. The reality is that he will have to do this for himself, no one can do it for him but if this is what he really wants I bet he will find the inner strength and determination to make it happen.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

I remember trying out for the baseball team in HS. I failed miserably on the distance running part ( and I am sure the Marines run is way tougher). I ran too fast in the beginning and pooped out. I didn't know you had to pace yourself early. Duh. Good luck!
If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2
Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.
I was an endurance swimmer. There is a well within. When your body is done for, all worn out, no more left to give, you push just a little farther using pure determination as your fuel. Then you feel a tingle. It spreads. You speed up.
My coach put it best... "How do you expect to get your second wind if you don't use up your first?"
