Community Woodpile Workday, Saturday, Nov. 4, 8:00-Noon, DPUMC, Bailey

01 Nov 2017 18:47 - 01 Nov 2017 18:51 #1 by DeerPark
On Saturday November 4th, from 8am until noon, you’re invited to join together for a morning of carefully crafted firewood calisthenics at the next Woodpile Workday. These cleverly concocted and choreographed combinations are sure to condition your cardiovascular capabilities and coordinate your cranium capacities. (In short, it will surely get your blood flowing.) All are welcome: all ages, all abilities. We had a fantastic group come out for a special wood fetching event on October 14th which brought a tremendous haul of wood supplies on site, so there is plenty for all to do:

- Logs that will need cutting
- Blocks that need splitting
- Split wood that needs stacking

Here’s the usual rundown:
DATE: Saturday, November 4th
TIME: 8am-noon
WHERE: Parking lot/Woodlot of the (newly remodeled and expanded) Interfaith Food Pantry, located at Deer Park United Methodist Church, 966 Rim Rock Road
WHAT TO BRING: Layered work clothing; gloves; ear and eye protection; chainsaws, wood splitters and wheelbarrows/carts if you have them.

The wood is used by Interfaith Food Pantry customers, so you're helping your neighbors stay warm. Think of all the fun you can have! Bring a friend. Bring a neighbor. You can even bring your dog. We take all-comers.
