COFA will host the Western Big Game Clinic on August 27th from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm at the COFA Green Barn.
If you're new to western big game hunting or would like to sit in and share some of your tips for the group, come and join us. This a hands-on seminar with lots of Q & A's.
Hunting is right around the corner, archery and black powder, then rifle. I invite you to join us and share some of your secrets about hunting elk and deer. There will be new hunters who just got their Hunter Education card that would love to hear stories about your first elk or your first deer. Let's pass on our love for hunting with new hunters and each other. You'll learn the latest techniques on how to hunt elk and mule deer in this clinic. COFA's experienced staff will teach you how to use scent pads and what scent you should use, There are many kinds of calls, cow calls and bull calls, which blinds work best, Montana decoys (do they work on elk and deer), and how to read maps for locating elk and deer. You'll discover what gear you should carry in your hunt pack. What are the best calibers for elk and deer (many opinions on this).
Learn what kind of survival gear should be carried when you're out in the field hunting in mountains, forests, or on the plains. Many people die needlessly in the outdoors because they are not equipped with the right gear.
It's a fun class; all are welcome to attend.
COFA is an All-Volunteer organization and is a designated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
