On Saturday, Mar 25th, COFA will host a GPS Basics Class!
COFA will have its GPS Basics class on Saturday, March 25th, at the COFA Green Barn from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The address is 8660 South Fairall Road, Morrison, CO 80465.
COFA’s own Mike Langley will be teaching the basics of GPS skills.
GPS Basics, what to know about your unit!, In this class, you will learn the basics of using a Garmin handheld GPS. We will cover everything from turning it on to marking and using waypoints.
Mike will also cover the Garmin inReach GPS units. The inReach units can be used to send text messages and also call for help in emergencies.
Join us for this fun and informative class. If you have a GPS unit at home, feel free to bring it along (even if it’s not a Garmin GPS).
Mike Langley, an avid outdoorsman for 37 years, will teach this class. While in the Air Force, Mike went through their survival school, where he learned orienteering (using a map and compass). Since then, the GPS system came out, and he got “hooked” on using them. Mike strongly believes that people need to know how to use these navigation tools if they get out into the field.
COFA is an All-Volunteer organization and is a designated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Your tax-deductible suggested donation of $10 goes toward training materials/equipment and is greatly appreciated!
