Calling all men and women Kayakers
September 14th-19th
Explore the headwaters of the Mississippi River and beyond
COFA (Christian Outdoor Fellowship of America) is offering the Kayaking adventure of a lifetime in the great state of Minnesota. You'll experience some of the greatest kayaking waters in the US, located in the heart of North Central Minnesota. There is incredible scenery and wildlife right out the back door of your cabin. Who can come on this trip? It's open to singles, couples, and families!
This is a great event not only for kayaking, but if you need to take a break from your busy life and spend some time relaxing, you might consider this retreat. Some of the most scenic biking and hiking trails in the US are near Lake Bemidji. It's a beautiful fall getaway; the fall colors are starting to show, the geese are flying overhead, wild turkey and deer roam the woods, while the smell of an oak campfire waffles in the evening air. You have the headwaters of the Mississippi River starting in Itasca State Park, a natural history museum, and old town Bemidji with many quaint shops.
We will be lodging in cabins and dining at Camp Oak Hills on Lake Marquette south of Bemidji, MN (home to Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox). The local lakes we kayak on also hold some of the Nation's largest walleye, northern pike, and musky if you like fishing. You will get a chance to fish, trade stories, and make some new friends while fishing or kayaking.
This kind of event with hotel, meals, kayaking, and fishing for five days in Bemidji would cost well over $1,500 per person. COFA is offering this event for $400, a savings of $1,100. Besides kayaking and fishing, there is plenty to do; nature hikes and bike trails, and kayaking at camp. For discounted rates for families with children, please get in touch with Leslie at 303.909.3707 to reserve your spot. You can bring your own kayak or rent one.
