COFA (Christian Outdoor Fellowship of America) is offering the fishing getaway of a lifetime in the great state of Minnesota. You'll experience some of the greatest walleye fishing in the US, located in the heart of North Central Minnesota. There is great scenery and wildlife right out the back door of your cabin. Who can come on this trip? It's open to singles, couples, and families with children of all ages!
This is a great event not only for the fishing, but if you need to take a break from your busy life and spend some time relaxing, you might consider this retreat. Some of the most scenic biking and hiking trails in the US are near Lake Bemidji. It's a beautiful fall getaway; the fall colors are starting to show, the geese are flying overhead, wild turkey and deer roam the woods, while the smell of an oak campfire waffles in the evening air. You have the headwaters of the Mississippi River starting in Itasca State Park, a natural history museum, and old town Bemidji with many quaint shops.
We offer a short afternoon devotional with lively music that will be uplifting and encouraging.
Bring your family! If you're a homeschooler, there is plenty of science and history to teach your children from the area. Free wifi is available in the facility. The woods, waters, and wildlife offer amazing learning opportunities. The Native American history from Bemidji is something kids will enjoy learning about; for example, some of the tribes include Ojibwe (Chippewa), Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Mohican, Oneida, Odawa, Potawatomi, and Sioux.
We will be lodging in cabins and dining at Camp Oak Hills on Lake Marquette south of Bemidji, MN (home to Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox). The local lakes we fish hold some of the Nation's largest walleye, northern pike, and musky. You will get a chance to fish, trade stories, and make some new friends.
The cost for this kind of event with hotel, meals and fishing for five days in Bemidji would cost well over $1,500 per person. COFA is offering this event for $475 per person. Besides fishing, there is plenty to do; nature hikes and bike rides, canoeing and kayaking at camp, as well as shopping in town, etc. For families with children, please contact us (see below) for pricing.
