COFA Western Big Game Hunt Clinic
Saturday, July 27, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

On Saturday, July 27, COFA will host a Western Big Game Hunt
Clinic from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the COFA Green Barn.

If you're new to western big game hunting or would like to share some of your tips with the group, come and join us. This is a hands-on class; we’ll be in the woods. Be sure to dress for mountain weather, as it can be chilly, possibly raining, and muddy.

You'll learn the techniques to hunt elk and mule deer in this clinic. COFA's experienced staff will teach you how to use scents, calls, blinds, and decoys and how to read maps for locating elk and deer. You'll discover what gear you should carry in your hunt pack. Discover thoughts on what are the best calibers for elk, deer and bear.

• Did you know there is an elk call that works just about every time to call in bulls and cows? (learn more about this call and how to use it)
• Did you know there is a specific direction to hunt elk at dawn? (learn this tip by looking at your map)
• Do you know how to use a scent line to your advantage? (Learn how to use the wind for success)
• Do you know how to place your decoys to lure in elk? (a simple trick that works great with the right elk call)

Learn what kind of survival gear should be carried when you're out in the field hunting in mountains, forests, or on the plains. Many people die needlessly in the outdoors because they are not equipped with the right gear.

It's a fun class for men, women, and kids; all are welcome to attend!
