Kids Archery Clinic and Target Shoot – Sat, May 23rd – 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Join COFA at its Kids' Archery Clinic on Saturday, May 23rd, at the COFA Green Barn from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The address is 8660 South Fairall Road, Morrison, CO 80465. $10.00 per child - boys and girls ages 5 to 17. Parents and adults attend free and need to remain at the event with their children.

In this archery clinic, you will learn how to improve your shooting skills and learn the basics and history of archery. This class is for the beginner and experienced shooter. If you don't own a bow, COFA will provide bows for the kids to use.

To register for this class, go to the following link: cofausa.org/civicrm/event/register/?id=411&reset=1

Kids will learn archery skills and techniques, including proper stance. Line up so your feet are in a line towards the middle of the target. Put the arrow on the arrow rest of the bow. Grip the string. Typically, three fingers are used to hold the string. Draw the bow, aim, and release.

This will be a hands-on class, where kids will learn how to use a bow and have fun with it, and apply their newly learned skills to hit an archery target. One of the fun things about this class is the interaction with other kids and parents.

COFA is an All-Volunteer, non-denominational, designated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Your suggested donation of $10 goes toward training materials and equipment and is greatly appreciated!

Kids Gun Safety & BB Gun Target Shoot – Sat, May 23rd – 12:00PM to 3:00PM

Cost $10.00 per child - Boys and girls ages 6 to 17. Parents and adults need to remain at the event with their children, but they attend for free!

COFA will be having its Kids' gun safety clinic and BB gun practice on Saturday, May 23rd, at the COFA Green Barn from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The address is 8660 S Fairall Rd, Morrison, CO 80465.

In this clinic (this is a NRA Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Class), kids will learn how to handle firearms in a safe manner, with parental supervision. They will learn: Do not touch a gun, even if it looks like a toy. If they find a gun, leave the area where the gun is, and tell your parents or an adult right away!

On the firing line, your children will learn the basics of gun safety:

Treat every gun as if it were loaded.
Always point your gun in a safe direction.
Never point your gun at anything you don't intend to shoot.
Always keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot.

Gun safety rules parents must teach their children. COFA will help prepare you and your children of all ages by reviewing these five rules for gun safety:

Rule #1: Guns are not toys. Explain to your child that a real gun is not a toy and should never be played with.
Rule #2: Guns are dangerous.
Rule #3: Never touch a gun without your parents' permission.
Rule #4: If you see a gun, leave the area immediately.
Rule #5: Be Careful! You don't want to hurt anyone!

COFA will provide the BB guns, so you will not need to bring a gun to class. The class size is limited to 30 students.
