Mine rescue scene: 'Chi! Le! Chile!' and 'God won'
Two shout-outs greet the world watching the spellbinding rescue of 33 trapped miners in Chile. "Chi! Chi! Chi! Le! Le!Le! Chile! Chile!" greets every man emerging from the capsule after riding back to the world from 69 days below the earth.
And miner after miner has made his own shout-out -- to God -- in words or images that show their Christian faith sustained them.
The best known miner, most voluble on video during their entrapped days, Mario Sepulveda, 40, told an interviewer shortly after he was the second man lifted from the mine,
I was with God and I was with the Devil, they fought me but God won. He took me by my best hand, the hand of God and I held on to him I never thought for one minute that God wouldn't get me out of there.
The Guardian describes Alex Vega Salazar, 31, the tenth man to be rescued, crossing himself before a long embrace with his wife.
The 13th to be rescued, Carlos Barrios, 27, didn't prance about like Sepulveda, who gave souvenir rocks to the Chilean president. But as he waved then embraced his brother and the rescue team, you can see he's painted a strong black cross on the back of his blue helmet.

What in common with all these stories, these men and they're FAITH.
Without their Faith, they surely would have gone to the "pits" of despair, and not cared, if they lived or died.
2 men were born again, 1 man the oldest (65) asked for stautes, and they built a shrine, to pray by...
So, I guess it's true, "There are no ATHEISTS, in foxholes!"

What is sad to me, is that so many people in this world have to go through a life or death ordeal before they realize how vital God ( by whatever name you choose to call him/her) is in their lives, but maybe that is the wonder of his ways.

The whole world watched in prayer while this dramatic rescue proceeded to safely bring each and every one of these miners out safely.
