Mt. Evans Hospice offers bereavement walking group

Mt. Evans Home Health & Hospice in Evergreen is offering a free walking support group for bereaved adults on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month through September. The group meets at 9 a.m. at the Bergen Park Trail in front of Buchanan Rec Center (off Evergreen Parkway and Hwy. 103). The walk returns to Buchanan at about 10:30 a.m.

“All who are bereaved and seeking support are invited to participate,” says Mary Noonan, the Mt. Evans counselor who facilitates the walks. “Grief takes all forms—those who are bereaved can connect with each other while walking together in our community.”

Walkers are reminded to bring water and a snack and to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. “We walk rain or shine,” Noonan says, “so think about bringing an umbrella if it looks like rain.” Noonan adds that participants are asked not to bring pets.
