21 boxes to Afghanistan

Three days after the "Packing Party" of Saturday, 2 June, 2012,
(See http://www.pinecam.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=152133 for a photo and information),
TSAC sent 21 boxes off to Afghanistan!
This is a bit over 221 pounds!

TSAC'rs in the photo are RailBuf and BeerGodROX.

Thanks to our generous mountain community, two U.S. Marine Corps combat units will soon be opening packages of fun and support from folks they don't even know!
They WILL KNOW that the sacrifices they are making are APPRECIATED by lots of folks back home.

The good news is that both of these units have local family interest connections.
This is special as we have not always had these local ties.

If you would like to be a part of this pipeline of cheer, please feel free to drop off goods in the TSAC collection boxes at King Soopers and Safeway.
We will pick these up and get them on the way.
See http://www.pinecam.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=46548 for ideas on items that are most needed, appreciated and are easy to ship!

The bad news is that the ground based supply lines are being held up by Pakistan.
Most mail must go by air so we are shipping mostly APO/FPO Flat Rate Priority boxes.
These are the white boxes in the photo above.
They might get there in as little as two weeks.
The brown boxes in the photo go as Parcel Post and may take as long as 2 months to get there.
This has driven up our cost per pound of this shipment to $1.34/lb.

Any cash contributions are greatly appreciated and will primarily defray postal expenses.
Checks should be made payable to: TSAC and mailed to: TSAC, P.O.Box 1033, Bailey, CO, 80421-1033.

TSAC is recognized by the IRS as a "small charity" under rules 509(a)(2) and donations are tax deductible.
TSAC will thank you for your donation and send you a donation receipt for your files.

Thank You for making this possible!
