There was an article published last week in the High Timber Times about JOY International and the Barefoot, Bluegrass, & BBQ Festival - check it out: http://www.hightimbertimes.com/content/ ... ed-secrecy (if you open it in Chrome, you can see the whole article)

There will be articles in the upcoming Mountain Neighbor and Mountain Connection that come out August 1st as well. :woo hoo:

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Tomorrow's the BIG DAY! Below is our schedule of events in case there was one band in particular that you really wanted to come see.

Don't forget that there is limited parking at the park (if you have a 4WD you can park in the field above the event field, just follow the signs), and more across the street at Newton Park's Juvenile Area. If those both become full, please park at the Conifer High School and grab a shuttle to get you over. PLEASE no parking along Foxton Rd - we need to keep it open for emergency vehicles.

Bring sunscreen, your rain poncho or :umbrella: in case it :sun: and a blanket or low-backed chair to sit in.

See you all there! :Happywave: :tea2: :bbQ :frienddrink: :woo hoo: :Eating:

Along with the Conifer Community Church, we are sponsoring the Walk For Freedom with Dr. Jeff. For a $10 donation, you can walk in his "shoes" (kidding, it's optional, and we definitely recommend trying it for a little bit, but you don't have to) and learn more about his work. You'll get a water bottle from us, and a cool tote bag from the Conifer Community Church for taking the journey.

We're proud to help sponsor this event, and be involved in something that emphasizes fitness!

I'm a big bluegrass fan- and I'm wondering if this is like the Keystone beer and bluegrass where the price of admission also includes the sampling of the beers?

Is the beer included?

No, I'm afraid it's not. The Conifer Chamber of Commerce is running the beer and wine tent for us, and they had to purchase the alcohol at cost from Biggie Liquors (thank you to Biggie's for sponsoring our VIP Tent too!) and they have to sell it back so they don't lose money. The profits they make will partly come back to JOY International, and the rest go toward other events like the OktoBEERfest and the Christmas Parade that the Chamber is hosting this year.

If you like bluegrass, then this is the event to come to!
