After praying, hoping, planning and trying everything I knew to have a Women For JOY Conference - we are finally on track to see it happen. Hallelujah! I'm writing because I am hoping you would like to be part of the Planning Team for what I hope will be a major Conference for Women who want to learn more about the plight of children and young girls who are trafficked, kidnapped, sold and forced into the commercial sex trade. These precious children and young girls are forced into what I believe is THE worst, most evil, heinous crime ever perpetrated against a child since the dawn of creation. The more successful this even is, the more children and young girls we can rescue.
This evil is not just happening in places like India, Thailand, Cambodia, Nepal, South America and many other places around the world - it is happening right here in America and yes - even in Colorado. Traffickers are now recruiting young girls in Jr & Sr High Schools and (believe it or not) in Church Youth Groups. At the Women For JOY Conference we will show how the perpetrators are doing this and how you, your children and youth group leaders how to recognize when it is happening and how to protect our children.
We will also be showing women how to recognize if their husbands are involved in pornography and what to do about it, along with how and where their husbands can get help if they need it. The following week we are looking at a potential Workshop/Seminar for men who do have a problem in this area - and how they can begin walking on the road to freedom.
Do you see the potential with a conference like this? I cannot do a Women's Conference like this alone. I truly, truly need you!
JOY International will be hosting a Luncheon/Planning Meeting to get the ball rolling and discuss how to make this event a major Women's Conference in Colorado. We have struggled with dates where it would be a time when the most people could attend. We have chosen Saturday, March 16th from 11:30 - 1:30. Here is the information:

Hey Everyone!
Please consider this your invitation to join us tomorrow for our next Women For JOY Conference planning meeting. We've started forming committees (I'm on marketing and sponsorships), but could use a lot more help. I don't know if you saw, but JOY International and their team in India just rescued 89 girls (the final tally was a little lower than 100) - to put that in perspective, before 2 years ago, that was more than Jeff was able to rescue in an entire year total! The relentless effort he's put in over the past 30 years to build relationships of trust with others and support are starting to explode in huge results, but it's not even close to the tip of the iceberg.
Our goal with this conference is to motivate women nationwide, then beyond, to form regional groups across the country that coordinate additional conferences raising awareness and funds for more help for our work. We want to build safe-houses across the country because it's a travesty that there are fewer than 100 beds in the whole USA for rescued girls. That's not counting the places that charge sometimes upwards of $8,000/month to house saved girls - that's outrageous!
If you'd like to help us with this inaugural event, we'd love to have you. We're starting to get some great speakers lined up, are working on securing a large venue in the city, but have much more planning to do. And this isn't limited to women - you men are invited as well!
We'd like to expand these events in the future to include a men's evening as well.

On the agenda: looking at several logos that have been designed for the conference by a graphic artist, finding out news about the venue, hearing from different committees, preparation for the Don Francisco concert on May 18th, etc...
