Mt. Evans Home Health & Hospice in Evergreen is offering a free walking support group for bereaved adults on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, May 14 through September 24. The group meets at 9 a.m. at Buchanan Rec Center (off Evergreen Parkway and Hwy. 103), in the parking lot near the art center. The walk returns to Buchanan at about 10:30 a.m.
“All who are bereaved and seeking support are invited to participate,” says Heather Aberg, the Mt. Evans social worker who oversees the walks. “Grief takes all forms—those who are bereaved can connect with each other while walking together in our community.”
Walkers are reminded to bring water and a snack and to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. “We walk rain or shine,” Aberg says, “so think about bringing an umbrella if it looks like rain.” Aberg adds that participants are asked not to bring pets.
