Holidays Are a Time for Giving, You Can Help Through the Sponsor-A-Family Program

Jefferson County Human Services is looking for generous donors to join in making the 2013 Holiday Season a little brighter for families in need. The Sponsor-A-Family Holiday Giving Program Adobe PDF Icon serves children and families who are dealing with issues of child abuse and neglect and may not receive any gifts this holiday season. 400 families are in need. The deadline to sign up is November 27th and gift drop off takes place December 2nd - December 4th.
There are two ways you can help:

Sign up using the online form (at the bottom of the page) to sponsor a child or family.

Donate items especially needed at this time: gifts for teens, non-perishable food items, diapers and children's books.

The Holiday Giving Sponsor-A-Family Program matches community members and businesses with children and families that are involved in the child welfare program at Jefferson County Department of Human Services. Each family and child that is matched is referred through the Children, Youth and Families division. Each individual is asked to provide a needs and a wish list. Even though a child may need winter boots, he/she may also desire the latest toy or gadget, it is up to the giver what they wish to buy. The program is also accepting any general toys and gifts, especially gifts and gift cards for teens, as there are many children and families that won’t be matched with a donator.

Simply fill out the online donor form (at the bottom of this page) and an email will be sent with further instructions and a list of requested items. You may bring gifts wrapped, but please label them CLEARLY with the family members name and family number.

Sponsor-A-Family kicks off on November 1 with the sign up deadline on November 27. General gift donations, food and diapers will be accepted until December 20.

Gift drop off will take place December 2 - December 4 from 8am - 5pm at the Jefferson County Human Services Building Cafeteria, located at 900 Jefferson County Pkwy Golden, CO 80401 near the north building entrance. There will be assistance in unloading your vehicle if needed. Donators are welcome to join in the cafeteria for refreshments during gift drop off week.
