"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

How about U.S. citizens purchasing wives from the Philippines?
How about ethnic orientals in the U.S. selling their daughters and neices as brides here in the U.S.?
How about ethnic middle easterners in the U.S. selling their daughters as brides here in the U.S.?
Is this OK because it is cultural? If this is not "trafficking" what is?
Arlen, Do they come with a return warranty?
Now on a serious note, it may well be trafficking, but is it done purely for monetary gain, or with the possibility of a better life in our country?
Try buying one without money. The orientals already live here, as do the middle eastern people. The sales are made within the borders of the U.S.
These sales are not made to caucasians, but within their own community.
(Buying Filipinos is most usually between a caucasian and someone in the Philippines.)
Trafficking pure and simple. If you were "sold" from a nation where the life expectancy was near zero for a young person, there might be an alternate reason.
Trafficking is trafficking and it's morally and legally wrong, doesn't matter ethnicity, age, religion, etc. No human being should ever be able to "sell" another human being, especially a minor, for forced labor or sexual services - it's a form of slavery.
