Would you like to help our Fire Department? Two of the seats on our Board of Directors are up for election this spring. These positions do not require any experience in, or in-depth knowledge of, emergency response. The Board runs the business side of things, making high level decisions about the direction of the District. The Board meets once a month for regular meetings. Special meetings may also be scheduled infrequently. If you think this might be a good way for you to help our community you can find more information on our website -

Forms must be submitted on or before Feb. 26th.

The deadline to submit a Self-Nomination and Acceptance form is close of business on Friday, February 26, 2016. Affidavit of intent to be a write-in candidate must be submitted to the office of the DEO by the close of business on Monday, February 29, 2016.
Applications for absentee ballots shall be filed with the DEO no later than the close of business on Friday, April 29, 2016.

The spring election for open seats on the Board of Directors of the Indian Hills Fire Protection District has been cancelled as no community members other than the incumbents expressed interest in running. As a result, both Scott Kellar and Paul Pettit have been re-elected by acclimation and will serve four-year terms ending in 2020.
Scott Kellar, a resident of Indian Hills since 2011 and a Board member since 2012, is an engineering graduate of West Point and 23-year military veteran with extensive strategic planning and financial management experience from multi-national, governmental, and private sector organizations. He currently serves as the Homeland Security Coordinator for the ten-county Denver Metropolitan area. In this role, he assists local government public safety leaders in implementing homeland security and emergency management initiatives.
Paul Pettit has been a Board member since 1998. He has resided in Indian Hills for more than 30 years. His background in broadcast engineering has allowed him to assist with the District’s communications system projects. Paul has also played a role in replacing all but one of the Department’s aging fleet during the many years that he has been associated with the Board.
Other Board members include Marc Rosenberg, Ron Walton, and Kelley Lehman. Their terms will expire in 2018.
