Founded in 1993, Leadership Evergreen's vision is for vibrant, aware, concerned, and active local leaders to contribute to our mountain community.
To achieve its vision, Leadership Evergreen offers participants opportunities to learn from and interact with community leaders, and to enhance and strengthen their leadership abilities, all with the goal of solving issues that impact our mountain community.
Every other year, LE selects 15 active community members to participate in a year-long program designed to broaden community awareness and strengthen leadership skills. We invite leaders with a sustained level of involvement in the mountain area to apply for the 2017 class! Participants meet monthly for modules on local history, education, non-profits, special districts, natural resources, and more. To date, we've had 10 graduating classes with over 125 graduates. Application details to come.
Summer Update!
The new Board has been very busy even though this is our "off year", meaning we don't have a new class until 2017. But the "off-year" means we are especially productive! This is our time to plan and coordinate the modules for the Class of 2017. We'd love your help and involvement for our 2017 modules. Are you interested in helping out? Or have ideas for speakers? Or would you like to sponsor a module? Please let us know!

Leader of the Year - Rome Chelsi
Leadership Evergreen was very proud to select Rome Chelsi as the 2015 Leader of the Year.
Rome's efforts on behalf of the Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) have been significant, and he is most deserving of this honor. Rome has voluntarily chaired the CAE Capital Campaign Committee since 2013, and through his leadership and the work of many devoted committee members, CAE was able to put a down payment on the former Bergen Park Church in late 2015. Now that the building is identified, Rome and the Capital Campaign committee are in high gear to complete the goal of raising $2 million dollars to renovate the the new Center as a spectacular cutting-edge art facility. With Rome at the helm, there is no doubt this community will step up to the plate and make it happen! Learn more about the capital campaign at

Special thanks to Toussaint & Coaty, PC for donating there Legal services to the formation of this foundation.
Class of 2013 Project Update
You have likely seen the Class of 2013 Project - the four beautiful informational signs around Evergreen Lake placed last year. The Class will crown their sign project by placing an additional interpretive sign at Staunton State Park, with matching funds from the Park.
