Center for the Arts Evergreen is proud to announce that a future home for the center was purchased in 2015 and has received a Historical Designation from Jefferson County. Part of the building was the original Soda Creek school house which dates back to the late 1880s and later became The Bergen Park Church (located on Hwy. 65 in Bergen Park, Evergreen). Slated for demolition, our preservation of this building was a compelling reason to choose this the site for the new Arts Center. The historic integrity of the building will remain, while creating a community focused arts and arts education facility.
We are proud to have preserved this part of Evergreen’s history. The $1.5 million project will provide CAE a state-of-the-art facility. The renovation of the existing structure will include will include 5,000 square feet of enhanced instructional, studio, and modern gallery space, artistic programming for families, live performance space, gift shop, reception, and administration offices. Help build a permanent home for CAE to build community through the arts for years to come. The new Center will provide a forum for public outreach and programs, and will offer quality community space to engage residents in our mountain communities.
