On Saturday September 2, the call went out for our 10 Most Wanted Items at the Conifer King Sooper, and The Community answered the call! We are humbled and in awe of the support we have received in this community.
The Mountain Peace Shelter is operated by PeaceWorks. A local Domestic Violence shelter, it is the only shelter within the 2700 mile Park County/Mountain Jeffco region and one of the only DV shelters to allow victims to also shelter their pets. Many times a victim is afraid to leave their pets behind to face retaliation, as a punishment by the abuser. Mountain Peace Shelter has the facilities to house dogs and cat’s onsite, with volunteers in the community to foster other animals as needed.
The response on Saturday was overwhelming. The items collected will keep the shelter stocked for 4-6 months in daily used supplies. Gift Cards and Cash donations were also received. We cannot thank our community enough for the support that so many continue to give.
The mission of PeaceWorks Mountain Peace Shelter is to prevent relationship violence, shelter victims and create safe communities. The 10 most wanted items can also be dropped off at Centennial Bank in Conifer, or the Administrative Office at 30403 Kings Valley Drive #2-112. We thank the community for the continued support. We couldn’t do it without you!
