Rotary Wildfire Ready℠ Announces Strategic Program Shift to Enhance Wildfire Prevention and Safety
Evergreen, CO — May 16, 2025 — The Rotary Clubs of Evergreen and Conifer are proud to announce a strategic transition in their wildfire preparedness initiatives. The highly impactful Rotary Wildfire Safety Team will now operate independently as Rotary Wildfire Safety, a program managed by the Rotary Club of Conifer. This move allows both programs to sharpen their focus and expand their impact.
Rotary Wildfire Ready, led by the Rotary Club of Evergreen, will continue its original mission: delivering comprehensive community education about wildfire preparedness. Through interactive dioramas, public outreach at community events, and the well-loved fire truck appearances, Rotary Wildfire Ready will remain a trusted source of wildfire education throughout Evergreen, Conifer, and the greater Front Range. The program will also continue responding to inquiries from communities across the U.S. and abroad looking to replicate its successful education model.
At the same time, the newly formed Rotary Wildfire Safety program will build on the success of the Safety Team, which has worked with Rotarians and community members in the Conifer, Evergreen and Bailey area to communicate local wildfire problems to people who can solve them. The Safety team works to help county and state officials find money and take action on dangerous evacuation routes and elevate issues preventing residents from taking action.
This evolution reflects the growth of both programs and a desire to more effectively serve the unique needs of our wildfire-prone communities. By dividing leadership and concentrating efforts, both Rotary Clubs aim to amplify the success of their wildfire initiatives.
“The work of the Safety Team has been extraordinary, and we are excited to see it evolve into its own program under the stewardship of Rotary Conifer,” said Mindy Hanson, President of Rotary Club of Evergreen. “At the same time, we’re proud to refocus Rotary Wildfire Ready on public education and look forward to continued collaboration between both clubs as we work toward a safer Colorado.”
