Homemade SodaStream Syrup

Anyone using a SodaStream? If so, have you tried to make your own syrup?

The Syrup, while not expensive, does have a lot of stuff in it that makes it less than ideal to make pop for kids. I was hoping to eliminate a bunch of the bad stuff (caffeine, artificial sweeteners, etc) and make something good for the kids.

I found the following but haven't tried it, have you?

Any suggestions, experiences would be appreciated.

Update... So I ordered four Sno-Cone flavors: Cola, Root Beer, Orange, and Mango. Yeah I know, Mango!! I meant to get passion fruit, don't know what I was thinking.

I made up a batch of the mango with somewhat marginal success. On the positive side it had the right amount of sweetness and a good amount of flavor. On the down side it had the nasty stavia aftertaste that really turned me off. It also was mango flavored... I guess there's a reason there is not a lot of mango pop out there.

I just put together a Root Beer syrup using Nectresse. Planning on carbonating some water and testing out that syrup tomorrow....

I'll keep you posted.
