Anybody ever make home made butter?

Any suggestions or is it really as simple as beating the hell out of some heavy whipping cream?

Yes, get cracking already! :P

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

Yep, get a mason jar with a lid and pour in heavy cream or buttermilk, cap off the jar and then start shaking it. You'll be at it for a long time but eventually you'll notice a solid mass beginning to form in the jar. Depending on the amount of butter fat in the cream or butter milk you use you should get about 1/4 to 1/3 solid butter from the total volume of the liquid. Pour off the remaining liquid and then enjoy the fresh butter!

Don't try to make large amounts of butter this way unless you have that kind of time to make it and you're sure it will get used up before it goes rancid.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

My kids made it that way in kindergarten, so it should be a snap for an adult.

I have a butter churn if you want to make more than a smidgen at a time.
Get the kids to shake the cream in Tupperware bowls.

Hmmm... the shaking thing seems labor intensive. Can't I just put it in my stand mixer with a paddle blade?

My forearms are already over developed from being married for 15 years
