It's as shelf stable as the oil that is used to make it. Can it go bad or is it as bad as it will ever get in it's original state? It's fermented fish juice that is saturated with salt and then infused into oil, IMHO one of those things that you either like or don't. Another fine example of the "if it tastes good just eat it and don't ask what it is" principal.
