Two food hints that work

Ok, I have to admit I a food show junky, I watch them and when I am doing other stuff I have them playing in the background.

In the past couple weeks I heard two things and was cooking up some stuff today and decided to give it a try.

The first thing is they said if you microwave your onions for 30 seconds before cutting them you will not get tears when cutting. I gave this a try and while not 100% (I think the larger onions needed longer than 30 seconds) I was mostly tear free.

The other is after cutting garlic rub your hands on stainless steel and it will remove the garlic smell. My faucet happens to be stainless steel so I rinsed my hand then rubbed on the faucet and no more smell.

Give it a try next time your cooking.
