Description: Under the direction of the supervisor, this position is primarily responsible for enforcing specific resolutions and/or ordinances enacted by Park County to regulate and control the domestic animal population for the safety and welfare of the public. This position also performs code enforcement work on a limited basis related to medical marijuana operations within Park County. All work related to medical marijuana activities will be coordinated through and supervised under the direction of the Investigations Division supervisor.

Description: Under the direction of the contracted medical director, this position is responsible to supervise, administer and perform medical functions at the jail.
Essential Duties: Completes a medical history and physicals on incoming inmates; administers and interprets tuberculosis skin tests on inmates; obtains blood specimens for lab tests; medically screens inmates assigned to food services; orders medication and stocks medical supplies; administers routine and as needed medication to inmates; refers inmates for drug and alcohol counseling and suicide counseling; notifies food services of special inmate food allergies and/or dietary requirements; trains staff in medication dispensing and basic first aid training; screen medical problems requiring further medical attention; schedules inmates with contracted physician for medical diagnosis, prescription medications, inmate medical proposals, and necessary x-rays, surgical procedures, and/or hospitalization; coordinates with jail supervisors regarding scheduling and transport of inmates for medical care; prepares reports regarding medical issues including treatment, emergency medicals, number of inmate patients seen, medications dispersed, etc.; supervises other nursing staff including scheduling and performance evaluations; attends staff meetings; provides emergency on-call support 24/7

Qualifications
Colorado Licensed Registered Nurse, supervisory experience; experience in corrections preferred; must consent to and pass a background check; valid Colorado Drivers License
