Hours: Seasonal (May 15, 2015 – September 15, 2015) NTE 40 hours per week
Primary Duties:
- Conservation Easement Monitoring:
- Conduct Conservation Easement monitoring visits:
- Complete Conservation Easement monitoring reports:
- Assist in the maintenance of Conservation Easement monitoring files.

Compensation: $15 per hour and mileage re-imbursement while performing actual duties as outlined above.

Seasonal Intern
Reports to: Land Conservation Specialist
Hours: Seasonal – Flexible 40 hours per week (May 15, 2015 – August 28, 2015)
Will be required to work on Saturday or Sunday
Primary Duties:
Schedule and lead interpretive nature walks.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Learn about the ecology of the areas.
- Prepare attendees for hikes including logistics and managing waivers.
- Maintain a list of groups and individuals to contact.
- Confirm attendance with attendees before hikes.
- Compose E-blasts press releases and posters.
Assist Land Steward with the monitoring of conservation easements.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Organize and update GIS/GPS information.
- Take photos at designated GPS points.
- Record field notes.
- Make corrections to reports.
- Copy, scan and upload reports to required locations.
- Assist in the maintenance of Conservation Easement monitoring files.
Assist Land Conservation Specialists with the implementation of the Lower North Fork Fire re-habilitation plan and the Penn Mountain implementation plan.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Recruit and organize volunteers.
- Monitor contractor’s tasks and/or lead volunteers in soil stabilization and tree removal efforts on Conservation Easements affected by the Lower North Fork Fire.
- Organize volunteers, supplies and logistics for a trail building project on Pennsylvania Mountain.
- Recordkeeping and reporting for grants.
Other
- Assist with the development and application of the organization’s database (Salesforce).
- Performs other duties as requested by the Executive Director or other staff.
- Participate in mandatory staff training.
Compensation: $120 per week stipend.
No housing offered.
Academic course credit highly recommended.
