The Colorado Mountain Club is seeking an marketing-minded and enthusiastic individual who has experience in planning domestic and international travel. The candidate will ideally be a seasoned traveler with a passion for exploring the world. The position requires approximately 10 hours per week.

The Adventure Travel Marketing Coordinator will report to the Director Marketing. They will also work very closely with the volunteer-based AT Committee along with the Risk Management Coordinator to plan, approve, and market Adventure Travel trips to our members and the general public.

Job Status: part time, approximately 10 hours per week

Primary Responsibilities:
• Craft a marketing plan for each Adventure Travel trip, including timeline and content for webpage creation, social media posts, blog entries, and email inclusions
• Maintain the Adventure Travel webpage, creating new pages for each trip and updating as necessary
• Create and manage Facebook events for each of the Adventure Travel Trips
• Compose and send monthly Adventure Travel e-newsletters while tracking results on established KPIs
• Design post trip surveys and send to all participants in a timely manner. Collect results and provide analysis for improvement
• Collaborate with trip leaders after the trip to collect photos and content to share across all of our channels
• Work with Risk Management Coordinator to ensure all trips meet legal requirement for guides and/or permits
• Primary liaison with the Adventure Travel Committee – attend monthly meetings and act as the staff contact for committee members and trip leaders
• Conducting in-depth market research and competitive analysis to help determine the future of the program

Qualifications:
• Have a passion for and experience in both domestic and international travel. Experience in the professional travel industry a plus.
• Basic knowledge of marketing concepts and principals, especially digital and social media, required
• Comfortable designing and editing webpages
• Experience with email marketing a plus
• Ability to track and maintain accurate data
• Effective at managing Google Drive
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Volunteer management experience a plus
• Highly organized and self-motivated with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Great attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and perform gracefully under pressure
• Team player who’s able to collaborate with and manage multiple points of contact within the organization
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Required experience:
College education to a Junior or Senior year equivalent is required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Salary & Benefits:
This position is part-time and budgeted for approximately 10 hours/week with a salary range of up to $10,000/annually depending on experience and qualifications

Offices are located in the great work environment of the American Mountaineering Center with several other prominent outdoor non-profits: American Alpine Club and Big City Mountaineers. It is within walking distance of downtown Golden restaurants, trails, open space, and other amenities

Through the Adventure Travel (AT) Program, the CMC offers exciting, unique, and affordable outdoor adventures domestically and around the world for CMC members and the general public. Existing for well over a decade, the program annually offers approximately 25 trips focused on mountain destinations both in the US and around the world. Trips are primarily planned and led by CMC volunteers with professional guide services being incorporated to lead more technical trips.
