The Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) has an opening for the Executive Director position and is seeking interested, qualified candidates.

General Information
CAE is a highly respected non-profit 501(c)(3) arts organization located in Evergreen, Colorado. Its mission is “to enrich and serve our mountain community by promoting and cultivating the arts through quality educational programs, exhibitions, and events.” Its tagline is “bringing the arts and the community together.”

CAE was founded as the Evergreen Arts Council in 1974. Since then it has grown steadily in terms of membership, programs, and community support. CAE’s current facility is an historic building which the organization purchased and renovated without incurring debt.

The Board of Directors, consisting of 15 unpaid volunteers, is the governing body. The Board officers (2 co-presidents, a vice president, secretary and treasurer) form the Executive Committee. Other standing and ad hoc committees address specific issues in coordination with staff. The staff consists of the Executive Director, the Director of Education and Festivals, the Director of Exhibitions and Marketing, a part-time Manager of Finance and Administration and a receptionist. CAE has approximately 175 volunteers who assist as needed.

Revenue sources include grants, donors, sponsors, membership events, lectures, concerts, and classes.Educational programs include summer camps for children as well as year-round art, writing and language lessons for children, adults, and those with special needs.

The annual operating budget of CAE is just under $600,000. We are running a capital campaign to add a creative arts addition to the current facility and have raised 60% of the anticipated $1 million goal. For more details, please visit www.buildourvision.org .

CAE is financially sound. Summary financial statements are available to candidates upon request.

The Board’s vision for the future is to continually expand educational opportunities, membership, donor base, community outreach, financial support, programs, events, and the facility.
