Title: Evergreen Downtown Business Association (EDBA) Program Coordinator
Reports to: EDBA Board of Directors
Job purpose: Manage and coordinate EDBA events and programs, coordinating with the financial manager on budget and expenses and keeping the board appraised of progress and/or issues. Help identify new programs and/or events which would help promote downtown Evergreen including working with local business representatives who may need assistance with planning and coordinating an event or program. Attend key committee and public meetings when requested, representing the Evergreen Downtown Business Association.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. Coordinate annual events sponsored by the EDBA such as Dam Ducky Derby, Halloween Walk, Holiday Walk, etc.
- Coordinate budget and expenses with the financial manager
- Develop and present to the board a plan of action for each annual event
- Identify and recruit sponsors to support each annual event
- Keep the board appraised of progress and/or issues for each annual event
- Coordinate volunteers
- Work with local agencies to secure necessary assistance prior to and during each event
- Present a summary of each event to the EDBA membership at the monthly meeting following the event
2. Respond to and follow up on phone and emails that come in to the EDBA
- Monitor and respond in a timely manner
- Alert the board to any new programs and/or events proposed
- Alert the board to any requests for information or assistance which you are unable to handle
3. Maintain and develop relationships with business owners and key organizations in Evergreen
- Assist with coordination and/or oversite for proposed programs/events to promote downtown Evergreen
- Alert the board to any new programs and/or events proposed
- Help identify new programs/events to promote downtown Evergreen
4. Maintain EDBA membership roster
- Quarterly review EDBA membership roster with financial manager and alert the board to any prior members who have not paid dues
- Help identify new businesses downtown and promote joining the EDBA
- Quarterly review EDBA membership roster against EDBA website to ensure members that are not in good standing are not promoted on the website. Coordinate any removals with Ed Sine (Wild Acoustic Music).
- Quarterly provide a listing of EDBA members in good standing to Karen Belmont (Go Paint!) so that only Facebook posts of members in good standing are being shared to the EDBA Facebook page.
Qualifications and Skills:
Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook. Credible, and comfortable in dealing with business owners and volunteers. Must be reliable, empathic communicator, responsible, able to see things from the other person's point of view, well presented, businesslike, open to new experience, responsible, and accountable. Also be able to get on with others and be a team player. Able to communicate and motivate via written and verbal media. Understands the principles of marketing and advertising and event planning. Must be adept in use of MS Office 2000 or later, particularly Excel and Word, and the Internet and email. Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator. Able to demonstrate success and experience managing sponsors for EDBA events.
Compensation:
Monthly retainer, part-time
