Job Description: Festival & Special Events Coordinator
Center for the Arts Evergreen is seeking a part-time Festival & Special Events Coordinator. Founded in 1974, Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) has been a leader in advocacy and support for visual and performing arts in its surrounding mountain communities by providing programming, exhibitions, classes, festivals, concerts, and special events for the community. The primary responsibility of the Festival & Events Coordinator will be to manage events and festivals for Center for the Arts Evergreen. These events include outside rentals of the facility, fundraising events, and the Summerfest and Winterfest arts and crafts fairs. The Festival & Special Events Coordinator will work closely will all staff as well as designated committees of the Board of Directors, volunteers and corresponding volunteer organizations, as well as artists, vendors, entertainers, and partnering entities.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING BUT LIMITED TO
Working with clients to identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction
Management of scheduling and rental agreement contracts
Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations
Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on event days
Build and adhere to an event budget to avoid project overruns
Create, manage, and administer applications for artists, sponsors, and vendors for Summerfest and Winterfest
Manage event set up, tear down and follow-ups
Work with EPRD, Jefferson County Schools and Jefferson County effectively for permits, contracts, and licenses
Actively solicit opportunities and foster relationships with local artists and artisans
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Must have good customer service skills and professional demeanor
Proven experience as an events planner or organizer
Excellent time management, communication skills, and attention to detail
Sales skills and ability to build productive business relationships
Ability to manage multiple projects independently
Establish standardized event procedures and train staff into properly executing them
Capable of working with internal and external teams and partners
Positive attitude and ability to stay calm under pressure
Exceptional multitasking skills to manage multiple projects independently and consistently
Working knowledge of computer programs and social media
Some Evenings and Weekends will be required
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS
This is a part time position including some weekend and/or evening hours. CAE is an easy commute (30 min) from downtown Denver, just off of I70
This position pays $20-25 per hour depending on experience
