Mission and Purpose:

The mission of EChO is to assist people in our community with their basic and urgent needs and to help them realize their potential on a path to self-sufficiency. Our goal is to provide HOPE to all the people we work with in the community.

ECHO relies on contributions from individual donors, community- based organizations, faith-based organizations, and grants. In addition, EChO operates a resale shop for the purpose of supplementing its income and to accomplish our mission.

Position Summary:

The Director of Development and Communications is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of EChO’s fundraising to include annual campaigns, monthly giving, capital campaigns and special events. In addition, the Director also coordinates and oversees the communications generated on behalf of EChO to include written, website and social media. The Director works closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors in all development and fundraising endeavors. The Director supports the community services provided by EChO including the Food Bank and Client Services, our Resale Shop and Job Center.

  • Grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors, including both current and prospective donors.

  • Direct capital campaigns and annual fundraising drives. Coordinate fundraising special events with the Board Fundraising Committee. Attend Board Fundraising Committee meetings and Strategic Planning Meetings.

  • Make public appearances/accept speaking engagements about EChO with the community.

  • Support the EChO team by creating publications to support fundraising activities, including raising the visibility of programs through innovative communications and marketing programs. Grow media relations activities.

  • Maintain gift recognition programs and oversee the donor database and tracking systems.

Qualifications:

Applications should have a minimum of 3 years of experience (preferably non-profits), a bachelor’s degree and demonstrated success in Development and Communications.

Salary and Benefits:

This is a full-time exempt position. Benefits include eligibility for medical, dental and vision coverage, paid time off and a Simple IRA with up to a 3% employer match. Salary $40-$65 based on education, experience, and qualifications.
