Bootstraps, Inc. celebrated its 80th year of serving our mountain-area students last year. From the humble beginnings of awarding two students $150 each in 1945, to awarding over $425,000 to 69 students last year, the Bootstraps organization has loved helping our local students achieve their educational dreams.

Bootstraps, Inc. is a community-powered nonprofit dedicated to helping local students pursue postsecondary education and career training. Through scholarships, interest-free loans, career training support, and ongoing assistance, Bootstraps partners with students and families to help remove financial barriers.

For decades, Bootstraps has been sustained by generous donors, dedicated volunteers, strong school partnerships, and a deeply engaged board of directors. The organization serves students from Clear Creek, Conifer, Evergreen, and Platte Canyon High Schools, and it is known for its personal approach.

Bootstraps is seeking its next Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter of impact and sustainability.

The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive and strategic leader of Bootstraps, Inc., working in close partnership with the Board of Directors to advance the organization’s mission, strengthen its financial sustainability, and deepen its community relationships.

This is a highly relational leadership role requiring strong fundraising capability, strategic thinking, operational oversight, and the ability to inspire donors, volunteers, and students alike.

Key Responsibilities will include leadership and strategy, donor relations and stewardship, fund development, community and school partnerships, operations and financial oversight, board partnership, and execution of the annual awards process.

Bootstraps seeks a leader who is:
  • A skilled relationship builder with demonstrated fundraising success.
  • Passionate about educational access and student success.
  • Comfortable working in a small, lean, mission-driven organization.
  • Financially literate and operationally disciplined.
  • Warm, collaborative, and community oriented.
  • Experienced in nonprofit leadership (preferred).
  • Experience working in education, scholarship administration, or community-based nonprofits is highly valued.
Bootstraps will offer a salary of $65,000 p/year, consistent with Colorado nonprofit benchmarks.
